About
Our School

Nana Hima Dekyi Academy is one of the Ahanta-West District premier educational institutions. The school was established by Late James Emmanuel Eshun of Dixcove, Ahanta-West District. NHDA is a School accredited and registered by the Ghana Ministry of Education on the 13th of August 2008. The school offers academic excellence through, Nursery 1-2, Kindergarten 1-2, Primary 1-6,  Junior High School 1-3, based on the principle that education involves the development of a student’s cognitive, physical, social, moral, and effective capabilities.

A dynamic classroom curriculum combined with community and service programs, experiential education, and extra-curricular activities enables students to participate in and reflect on the educational journey from preschool through the university admissions process. Students are a respected part of the learning process shared with parents and teachers. They are encouraged to be risk-takers, unafraid to ask questions, and confidently seek answers.

NHDA students have unique opportunities to travel, study and participate in sports throughout the country and all over the world.

NHDA does not just educate. NHDA prepares students for work, life, and leadership in their own communities and society at large.

Proprietor's Message

I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition both in and out of the classroom.

NHDA has earned a reputation for academic excellence through the hard work of our students, teachers, parents, and staffs. The school is proud to support numerous challenging academic courses, an outstanding athletic programs, second to none visual and performing arts programs, and various school clubs for students.  We encourage you to experience our school culture; one that is focused on providing students with the academic and social resources that will prepare them to achieve their post-secondary goals.

At NHDA, we believe that it is important for our students to be connected to the school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community.  I believe that every student can learn and be successful if provided the right supports and opportunities. Our teachers and staffs are committed to providing all students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth.

A crucial part of success for students is attendance.  As a parent or guardian, it is essential for you to maintain an attitude that “Every Day Counts” for students to be in school and ready to learn each day.  At NHDA, we will assist in helping parents and families understand the importance of instructional time and school attendance. Additionally, we recognise that family and community support are integral to our success. Parents/Guardians play the most important roles in a student's success and I invite you to collaborate with us in your student's education by attending PTA meetings to discuss the way forward for our children.

When we take the time to strategically plan, forge positive relationships, celebrate our achievements, and continue to build on our successful foundation, we can foster a learning environment where our entire Dixcove community thrives.

NHDA is a place where exceptional teaching and learning are the norms.  I am truly honored to be a part of the Nana Hima Dekyi Academy and the Dixcove Community.
